The 7-12 month Think & Toy set is decent for my 9-month-old—wooden toys are sturdy and help with motor skills. However, the blocks have sharp edges that worry me during play (softer corners needed), and the object permanence box is too loud and startling. Fix those, and it’d be great.
I love how each toy in the 7–12 month box has its own purpose. Every single one works on a different skill like fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem solving, cause and effect. They’re simple and beautifully made, but still super engaging. My son keeps going back to them, which says a lot!
And then you get a full set of blocks which is such a great bonus. They’re sturdy and perfect for stacking, knocking down, and open-ended play as baby grows.
You can also buy both boxes together as a bundle at a discounted price, which is amazing because it basically sets you up with Montessori-inspired toys for the whole first year.
Found this Canadian company on baby show and got the 7-12 month baby set . Very good quality and amazing toys . Highly recommend
Although I like the concept of these toys and appreciate the booklet that explains how to use them with your baby, I feel that some items are not suitable for children 12 months and under.
Firstly, the wooden boxes seem like a potential safety hazard. My one-year-old cannot stand independently yet and falls often, and the sharp edges of the box-like wooden toys could hurt her if she falls on them. The same concern applies to the small wooden blocks.
I’ve also noticed that the pictures on the blocks have already started to fade, which is disappointing for the price point. In addition, the ball and cylinder pieces make very loud noises when dropped into the wooden boxes, which can be startling.
Overall, I like the idea and the educational value, but I think some design and safety improvements are needed for younger babies.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. All of our toys are tested to meet Canadian safety standards for ages 12 months and under, so your little one’s safety is always our priority. The fading you noticed shouldn’t happen — please email us at info@thinkandtoy.ca so we can look into this and make it right
I love that this set comes with 8 great toys! It’s meant for 7–12 months, but even my 18-month-old niece enjoys them. The toys are perfect for hitting key Montessori milestones. We follow zero screen time, and these keep my baby engaged. I rotate 1–2 toys at a time, which really helps hold his interest!
